Description
An electric furnace is a device that utilizes electricity to melt raw materials, comprising components such as an electric power voltage regulator and an automatic electrode lifting control system. When producing rock wool products, the furnace operates using a three-phase, three-electrode power supply at industrial frequency to heat the raw material melt through resistance heating. The electric furnace process requires no additional energy sources, offering advantages such as clean operation, energy efficiency, and straightforward process control.
The working temperature of the molten mass within the furnace differs at the electrodes and discharge port: electrode temperature ranges from 1600-1800°C, while outlet temperature is 1400-1600°C. Gas temperature inside the furnace remains between 700-900°C. The exhaust gas flow rate is approximately 8000 m³/h (standard conditions), with a temperature around 400°C. Before entering the filtration system, the exhaust gas is diluted and cooled to approximately 200°C.
